First roll of the New Year.
I just got my first roll back of the new year. Thanks to whoever it was that took the time to develop this film without the aid of machinery.

Some dogs, the artwork was given to me by the client, the Artist was her Father.

A tobacco pland for the other shoulder.

Some alchemical symbols.
Thanks for looking.

News!
So what's new? Well lots of things are happening right now! We have decided to renovate the other other shop we have. Which means we will have just one big shop (not two- let me clarify). We have been leasing the shop next door for the past 2 years but we haven't really done anything with it thus far. But since Stu has decided to stay and Ryan was supposed to take his place, we thought we needed a bit more room to spread out. It is literally just so we have some more room to move (we aren't taking on anymore tattooers). It also allows us to have plenty of room for our guest artists too, so stay tuned! There is a lot to do and little time to do it (since we plan on having a baby in a few months) but things are more fun when you do them under pressure, right? But the shop is having a complete over-hall, it will be unrecognisable and it's really, really exciting!
The only annoying thing is the shop is going to be a complete disaster zone for the next 2 months, so we do apologise for that but it was too late notice to have taken any time off, so we are going to attempt to work around the drama.
We also have a whole bunch of guest artists coming in the next 2 months, which is always exciting and fun! I have already posted about most of them but just to recap:
- Matthew Gordon: 22nd Jan till the 2nd of Feb. Still taking appointments! Please email: Matthewgordon@live.com.au
- Wendy Pham: 22nd Jan till the 2nd of Feb. BOOKED OUT SORRY!
- Alvaro Flores: 4th of Feb till the 8th of Feb. BOOKED OUT SORRY!
- Ben O'Grady: 12th of Feb till the 16th of Feb: Taking appointments now! Please email Ben direct: tattoosatori@gmail.com or us progressiontattoo@hotmail.com
- Steve: 19th of Feb till the 23rd Feb: Taking appointments now! please email progressiontattoo@hotmail.com for appointments.
- Christineth: 19th of Feb till the 23rd Feb: Taking appointments now! please email progressiontattoo@hotmail.com for appointments.
- Alex Rusty Cairns: 28th Feb to 2nd March: Only a few spots available- be qucik! Please email Alex direct at: rustycairns@hotmail.com
So you may have noticed Steve and Christeneth have been added to that list- yay! Here is some of their awesome work. Just shoot us an email progressiontattoo@hotmail.com if you are keen to book in with either of them, they are taking bookings now:

This is work by Steve:
We also have new Big Cartel Site (progressiontattoo@bigcartel.com), where you can buy any Progression Tattoo merch and prints by Matt Deverson. So anyone ordering from interstate or overseas can easily order online, using paypal. Anyone from Adelaide not requiring postage can just stop by as normal. But the cartel site will be a good way to see what we have up for grabs and any details you need on our stuff!
So in saying that, Matt has a new print up for grabs! It's the massive snake and peony print he did a couple weeks back. We are currently getting them printed but you can order now. So they are 76.5cm X 57cm (so pretty darn big)! They are $80, plus postage. But please visit progressiontattoo@bigcartel.com to order from interstate/overseas, or shoot me an email if you are in Adelaide. The original is already spoken for, sorry.
And we finally have more T-Shirts and Crew Necks back in stock! So if you have ordered one via email and need it sent out, you can do this now by visiting the Big Cartel Site to get it! Visit progressiontattoo@bigcartel.com Or just pop buy and pick one up! The crews are $60 and the T-shirts are $30 (plus postage).
So Stu is heading back to the UK on the 15th of February and will be back in Adelaide by 12th of April. If you want work done before he leaves, you better get moving. But he is taking bookings now for his return too.
Ryan Reeve will start full time with us on the 19th of February and he is taking bookings now! So email us (progressiontattoo@hotmail.com) if you want to booking in with Ryan.
I will most definitely be doing another blog really soon to show what our regular legends have been tattooing but that's it for this instalment.......

2013
Happy new year, and welcome to our new website. The decision was made to give the site a do over, the old one had served us well for the past few years but we've gone for a brighter and hopefully easier to navigate site for you to use.
Over Christmas we've been very busy with a lot of large work in, there's some photos in this post, but Andy and I now have our own portfolios online for you to have a look through, just click on the Galleries link.
We want to wish all our clients the best for the new year and we'll see you soon.

Japan and stuff
In Breaking News:
And I think that is all......
Ok so we have some new developments: Stu has decided he loves Adelaide (and us- hehe) so much he has decided to stay in Adelaide! YAY! He will be heading back to the UK in mid Feb and will back in Adelaide by 2nd week of April. We will have exact dates later. But if you do want to get in before he heads back to England for a bit, better get on it!
So as I said in the last post we have a bunch more guest artists coming in the next few months. Another person we can add to the list is our mate Ben O'Grady from Lighthouse Tattoo (Sydney). He will be with us from 12th to 16th of Feb. If you want to book in with our good buddy Benny, please email him direct at tattoosatori@gmail.com
Here is some of Benny's work:
And just to clarify, here is a list of artists (in order of when they will be at Progression) and details about their visit:
- Malika Rose: Christmas/New Year period. NO MORE APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE
- Mitch Love: Christmas/New Year period. NO MORE APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE
- Matthew Gordon: 22nd Jan till the 2nd of Feb. Still taking appointments! Please email: Matthewgordon@live.com.au
- Wendy Pham: 22nd Jan till the 2nd of Feb. Still taking appointments! Please email: wendy_p@live.com.au
- Alvaro Flores: 4th of Feb till the 8th of Feb. Alvaro is still getting through some emails, so if you have sent one to him for this trip, please be patient. He is a busy man and will get to you as soon as he gets a chance.
- Ben O'Grady: 12th of Feb till the 16th of Feb: Taking appointments now! Please email Ben direct: tattoosatori@gmail.com
- Alex Rusty Cairns: 28th Feb to 2nd March: Taking appointments now! Please email Alex direct at: mail@alexrusty.com
Last minute bookings: Just want to let people know that in most cases, we cannot take last minute bookings, ESPECIALLY this time of year! Our artists can be booked out from 3 weeks to couple months in advance (depending on the artist). We are getting a lot of emails from people wanting a tattoo and wanting it quick! Unfortunately we can't often work this way and people are finding that frustrating, so we apologise for that. But a good tattoo is worth the wait right? If our artists have a last minute cancellation, they may post on their instagram or facebook pages, so you can look out for last minute spots there.
How to make an appointment: The way to make an appointment with us, is to email us (please don't facebook) at progressiontattoo@hotmail.com and you will need to state:
- What you want to get (koi fish, traditional snake- whatever it is). Please just describe as best you can. Send through pics if you have any (just be aware that we don't copy but it will give us an idea of what you want).
- Where you want the tattoo (full sleeve or just a small wrist tattoo).
- If you have a preference for an artist please state, if not we will put you with who we think is best suited to do your tattoo.
- Please look at our artists portfolio's before asking a particular artist to do your work. If you want a tribal armband and you don't see anyone at our shop that does that kind of thing, then we probably don't have the right artist to do your work. The kind of work they post is what they do, if you don't see the kind of work that you want in there, then they probably can't do it for you.
- An email such as "I want to book a tattoo for tomorrow, thanks" is not enough information for us. We don't want to waste your time or ours, so we need to know what you want before we can proceed with consultations etc.
Here is some work that the guys have been up to the past few weeks or so:
Coming from Stu:
Coming From Jamie:
By Simo:
And finally from Matty D:
And finally a bunch of pics from our trip to Japan, we had an awesome time, as always! Can't believe it will be September before we will get back there again, that makes me sad :(
Best Miso I have had, from little restaurant we found in Togakushi.
Visited the Tattoo Museum in Yokohama
Sankeien Graden (one of my fave places to visit in Yokohama)
That day was really something else. The changing leaves and the weather- perfection!
One of my fave things about Sankeien is the friendly kitty's all over the place.
And it wouldn't be a visit to Japan without the pain! Not for me this time though :P
Hokusai Exhibition- last day- we were really lucky to see such a great collection!
Osaka Aquarium. Mr Whale Shark is swimming past

Around the Zenkoji Temple in Nagano
The gate to Oskusha Shrine (Togakushi)

Baby's first visit to the snow and Japan for that matter!

Tattoo museum
We got to meet Horiyoshi III!
Shinkansen travel- best way to travel
It was snowing a blizzard in Nagano- well it felt like a blizzard
These cedar trees are huge- you can't even get the perspective from this photo- was a truly amazing day
